Michael joined the Institute in 2003, and has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in politics and modern history, a Masters in International Affairs, and has undertaken postgraduate study in rural sociology and geography, and survey research methods. He has previously worked as a computer software consultant, desktop publisher, and web designer.  He has been involved with a range of projects at the Institute, in the areas of: climate change vulnerability; weed detection, risk analysis and extension; water economics; project evaluation; and cotton and wool industry surveys.  Specific roles include survey design and management, data analysis, literature search and review, report writing and editing.  He also attends to the desktop publishing, graphic design, multimedia and web site needs of the Institute.
