International Journal of Rural Crime

Welcome to the International Journal of Rural Crime ISSN 1835-6672

The International Journal of Rural Crime (IJRC) ISSN 1835-6672 is a totally free online journal publishing scholarly peer-reviewed articles and policy-relevant discussions from across the world. A joint venture between Ohio State University (US) and the Centre for Rural Crime, University of New England (Australia), the journal is published annually. Once an article has successfully passed the anonymous peer review process it will be incorporated into the issue for the current year.

The aim of the journal is to publish international, scholarly and peer-reviewed articles of the highest standards on crime and policing in rural areas, drawing on the disciplines of criminology, geography, rural studies, psychology, and sociology. Possible topics include, among others: community structure and crime; farm crime; environmental crime and green criminology; biosecurity and terrorism; drug production and misuse; the impact of outsiders on rural life; crime reduction and crime prevention; police and policing in rural communities; prisons and prisoners; juvenile crime; crime, justice and Indigenous people; violence; fear of crime and theories of crime in rural areas.

In addition to refereed papers, the journal is keen to promote policy debates and to publicise recent legislation, policy documents, academic publications and forthcoming conferences that relate to crime in rural areas.
