The Rural Social Science Network

The Institute for Rural Futures hosts the Rural Social Science Network, a loose association of UNE academics, research students, and other staff. It includes anyone who is interested in understanding the economic, social, cultural, and environmental wellbeing of rural and regional Australia, the processes that create those conditions, and their management by governments, communities and individuals. It seeks to develop that understanding through regular activities. Interaction between the Network's members facilitates inter-disciplinary understanding, a greater depth of knowledge about rural and regional issues, and joint research and publishing projects. Through the relationships developed within the Network, the Institute can readily assemble project teams to work on a wide range of rural research areas.
